AISI 316L STEEL
It is a steel that can be used in a wide variety of industrial and even artistic/design applications. Suitable for the printing of functional parts, it is a material that boasts multiple qualities of importance to the manufacturing industry in general, including good corrosion resistance and high tensile strength. These characteristics make it ideal for the realization of parts for packaging machines, prototypes for the automotive world, surgical instruments, biomedical field.
AISI 316 L is an austenitic alloy resistant to corrosion. The abbreviation 316l, frequently used, follows the AISI standard. For the European standard, the material 1.4404 is the one that bears the closest resemblance to the material 316l of the AISI standard. The carbon content <0.03% effectively limits the tendency to inter-crystalline corrosion. The molybdenum alloy element also contributes to further increasing the resistance to alveolar corrosion. As an austenitic material, it also offers excellent deformability features at low temperatures.
It has good workability, and can be subsequently sandblasted and polished.
The AISI 316L is a material compatible with the release test of materials for food, medical and cosmetic industry, fully respecting the Moca certification.
